Why God went back to work.

“In the beginning was the Word . . .” (John 1:1).  What beginning? Not only Genesis 1:1 (see John 1:2), but also the new beginning that began when God initiated the NEW work (Genesis 3:21) of creation.  God’s Sabbath rest came after the initial 6 days of creation work.  God went back to work when sin entered the picture (which destroys the Calvinist notion of predestination that precedes creation) and Jesus set about to support the redemptive work of the Father in His physical death, burial and resurrection on earth (John 5:16-19).  That which God conceived, God then worked to establish in time and in the hearts and lives of people (I Peter 1:20).  The Word went forth to be considered through the grid of the knowledge of good and evil built into every person.  What will YOU do with Jesus?
